Kyle's Ubuntu Edgy Cheat-Sheet

Kyle's Ubuntu Edgy Cheat-Sheet: "Automatix2 - Automatix makes it very simple to install multimedia codecs, dvd support, rar file support, and a whole lot more.
Swiftfox - Swiftfox is a build of Mozilla's Firefox browser that's optimized for your processor, and is thus a bit speedier than the default firefox.
GAIM - a multi-protocol IM client. Supports MSN, AIM, Yahoo, ICQ and Jabber.
MPD - A command-line music player. Exceptionally small footprint, capable of some advanced features, and has a variety of GUI interfaces availiable as well. Some people like more feature-packed apps like Amarok or Quod Libet, but MPD does the job for me, and does it well. A good non-command line application is Quod Libet.
Wine - allows you to run certain windows applications within linux. I use it for uTorrent, as I've yet to find a torrent app for linux that matches it.
VLC Media Player - VLC will play almost anything. Easily the best video player on ANY platform.
Gimpshop - Rearranges the Gimp's menus to make it easier to transition from using Photoshop.
Envy - Makes for a VERY simple alternative to the often-complex process of installing the newest binary drivers for your nVidia or ATI video cards. "
